Making a Difference (2011)

I was awarded a grant from the GABA Charitable Trust to record eight extended audio interviews with Aucklander's who have made a difference in Auckland's queer community.

The Trust and I really wanted a diverse range of participants and so we held a public nomination process. The following eight people were selected: Johnny Givins, Jonathan Smith, Miriam Saphira, Aunty Wai Mason, Geoffrey Marshall, Anne Speir, Karen Ritchie and Katija Vlatkovich.

The audio interviews were launched in September 2011 and feature on PrideNZ.com - a site established as a positive space for Queer/LGBTI voices from New Zealand.

Making a Difference was just one of many community-orientated projects generously funded by the GABA Charitable Trust. Over the past decade they have donated in excess of $150,000 to fund a broad range of organizations.
